Cardiac/Heart checkup
This is heart assessment by a cardiologist.
Starts with you telling about your present symptoms and past medical history, what heart and non-heart medical and surgical conditions you have, and what medicines you take. You will be asked in detail about the pattern of your symptoms if any, your social habits such as drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, work, family, and level of physical activity.
What follows is a head to toe physical examination with specific interest to your cardiovascular system and related organs such as the thyroid and your nails.
After this basic enquiry and examination, you will be advised on the need for various tests to ascertain your clinical status.
Such tests will include blood tests for cholesterol, sugar, control of your sugar , kidney , thyroid and full blood count.
Electrical and conduction status (Electrocardiogram -EKG/ECG) of your heart will be done as well as gross structure and function –(Echocardiogram-ECHO ) of your heart .
Once the reports are available, our Cardiologist will discuss the findings with you and together we decide the next course of action.
